Court Ordered Conjoint Family Counseling

Conjoint family counseling consists of counseling sessions with family members, typically a parent and child(ren) who have been court ordered to receive a designated number of therapy visits that concentrate on the family interactions and dynamics. The goal is to create healthy relationships between family members in order to allow for the next steps in the court custody proceedings. Successful conjoint family therapy can create a sense of safety and understanding for children while providing necessary tools that help parents connect emotionally with their children.
Through the process of conjoint counseling, your therapist will assist in identifying and addressing family dynamics and challenges to create a path for safety, relationship growth and family success.
A progress summary of the observations and interactions during the sessions is provided to courts to utilize in determining next steps in custody proceedings.
Currently CYS offers these services in-person and an out-of-pocket fee-for-service rate. We do not accept insurance at this time.
